The longest heritage railway in the UK comes to life in the beautiful West Somerset Railway route add-on for Train Simulator. Spanning 20 miles from Minehead to Bishops Lydeard, this preserved line runs through Somerset's picturesque landscapes, offering stunning coastal and countryside views.
Discover the rich history of the West Somerset Railway, originally opened in 1862 under Isambard Kingdom Brunel. Once a vital route for holidaymakers and freight, it was revived as a heritage railway in 1976. Experience the charm of GWR and S&DJR locomotives, including the Class 7F 'No. 88' in Somerset & Dorset Joint Railway livery, GWR Hall Class 'Raveningham Hall', and BR Green Class 33 'D6575'. Roll with authentic BR Mk1 chocolate and cream coaching stock and GWR/BR freight wagons.
Key features include the scenic route from Minehead seafront to Dunster, Watchet, Williton (with its oldest signal box), along the Quantock Hills, to the summit at Crowcombe Heathfield, and down to Bishops Lydeard. Nine immersive scenarios await: WSR Simple Controls, WSR: Driving a Steam Locomotive, WSR Driving a Diesel Locomotive, West Somerset Railway, Santa Special, Fall by the Wayside, A Summer Spin, Watchet for the Storm, and The Quantock Belle Special. How to Activate
